Curious about genetic engineering, molecular biology, plant cell biology and plant physiology?

In the AM Group we study how ingenious plants use autophagy (self-recycling) to survive stress they cannot run away from. We are interested in fundamental, curiosity-driven research, and we build custom tools to push the limits of what is possible. Our group has several hands-on projects, where you will get to test-drive equipment developed in our group (SPIRO, RoPod, and BioLum), design genetic constructs, tweak protein design, explore CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, and image living plant cells using confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM).

We are happy to host motivated and curious students who want to explore their research interests. The projects' scope and complexity can be adjusted for both both bachelor's (15hp) and master's degree (30-60hp) projects.
